The Complete Practice Management Seminar™ is a program offered annually in July to residents and fellows who are beginning their final year of post-graduate training. Resident and fellow physicians, both osteopathic and allopathic, are invited to participate in this comprehensive two-day program designed to offer guidance and tools for making sound career decisions.
The 2011 Seminar was attended by close to 50 residents and fellows from nine Oklahoma residency programs.
Prep for Practice Seminar 2011
Thursday, July 21, 8:15 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday, July 22 (optional), 8:15 a.m. - Noon
Location: OSU-Tulsa Campus, 700 North Greenwood North Hall, Room 150
This seminar is fully underwritten by the Foundation and presented at no cost to the physician. Reservations are REQUIRED; seating is limited to the first 75 registrants (spouses/partners are invited to attend).
Day one focuses on topics such as:
- finding and evaluating practice opportunities
- negotiating an employment agreement
- understanding financial incentives
- building a successful practice
- managing personal finances.
An optional half-day session is offered for those who are interested in starting and managing a practice and provides instruction related to:
- patient accounting
- managed care plans and other payors
- staffing
- team building
- practice telecommunications
- medical records.
